The 2025 City Elections are fast approaching, and we’re here to provide all the information you need to participate as a candidate or voter. This page will be your one-stop source for details on how to qualify as a candidate, access necessary forms, and stay informed about key dates and deadlines.

How to Qualify for Office:

Candidates interested in running for office must complete and submit the required documentation before the qualification deadline. Below are the essential steps to qualify as a candidate:

  1. File a Statement of Intent

    • For Primary Election Candidates: Submit a Statement of Intent and pay a $10.00 filing fee. Payment can be made in cash or by check, payable to the appropriate Municipal Executive Committee.

    • For Independent Candidates: Submit a Statement of Intent along with a Candidate Petition. No filing fee is required for independent candidates.

  2. Submit Forms and Payment

    • Forms and payment (if applicable) must be submitted to the City Clerk.

  3. Meet the Filing Deadline

    • The deadline for qualifying is 5:00 PM on January 31, 2025. Be sure to submit all required materials before this date and time.

Key Dates & Deadlines:

  • Candidate Qualification Deadline: 5:00 PM on January 31, 2025

  • Primary Election: April 1, 2025

  • Run-off Election (if needed): April 22, 2025

  • General Election: June 3, 2025
